It’s no longer a new thing that Nigerians are now so eager to leave the country as the economic situation is not getting any better. That’s what we call the “Japa Syndrome”
This is a simple but well vetted checklist for things you need incase you feel the need to further your education outside the shores of Nigeria as an Undergraduate.
You can check out our post “Traveling abroad as a Graduate” if you do not fall under the Undergraduate category
Heres your Undergraduate Japa Checklist:
- O’LEVEL Certificate
- NIN – National Identity Card
- International – Passport
- Academic Transcript from your High School. This is should be gotten from the school were you obtained your O’Level Certificate.
- Recommendation Letter – Let your school put in a word for you, highlighting all your achievements.
- Cover letter – You are going to extensively write about yourself, your academic journey, your challenges, your achievements, visions and goals in life.
- Build an impactful social media, a social media that depicts a morally upright individual.
- Lastly, Proof of funding. This should be provided by your parent or guardian, exception of scholarship funded travels.
